2nd Annual John’s Baby Steps 5K Run/Walk

The date has been set…Saturday, October 15, 2011! Same location (starting & ending) at Kinnick-Feller Park in Adel, IA. 

This year we will be utilizing chip timing!

There will be awards for male & female in under 19, 20-40 & 50+ age groups.

CPR Training Scheduled for Monday, September 19, 2011

The next CPR training class will be held in West Des Moines on Monday, September 19, 2011 at 5:30 to 7:30 PM. 

Classes are FREE WILL DONATION and $5 if you would like a certification card. All donation are put back into the CPR training materials to continue future classes.

Schedule for John’s Baby Steps 5K this Saturday…

The weather is looking perfect for the 2nd Annual John’s Baby Steps 5K this Saturday. The forecast is calling for a high of 72 degrees and sunny! The low is 50 degrees…so you may want long sleeves on when you arrive between 6:30 & 7:30 am at Kinnick-Feller Park in Adel. 

If you have not signed up yet, it is still ok…you can register Saturday between 6:30 & 7:30 am at the race site. Or at the Adel Public Library Thursday, October 13 from 10:00am – 7:00pm or Friday, October 14 from 10:00am – 5:00pm.  

SCHEDULE FOR THE MORNING:

8:00 am: Memory Balloon Release
                 National Anthem
                 Shot Gun Start 

9:00 am : (immediately following 4-wheeler crossing 
                 finish line to end the race)
                 Tot Trot form ages 12 & under
                 Ages 10-12
                 Ages 6-9
                 Ages 5 & under  

9:45 am:  Raffle prizes will be drawn when Tot Trot concludes.
                 (Each paid participant will recieve 1 raffle ticket.
                 Additional tickets can be purchases before &
                 immediately following the 5K (during the Tot Trot) f0r:
                 1 for $1, 6 for $5 or 12 for $10.
